In the last 24 hours of Little Mother's Helper on Kickstarter, I was stunned. Not because we were some big, viral campaign. Not because we were another product the world doesn't need.
I was stunned and overwhelmed with love because of the energy, stepping up, and love that this community poured towards making Little Mother's Helper a reality.
As I responded to some backers on the second to last morning, a little quiet download came in that said, "Love goes a long way."
Because here's the thing, I know many of you can relate to the first few months of being parents and having one of those days when you look at your partner and think, "I don't love you, today."
But you do, you know you do, and maybe you don't know how long it will take to get back.
The wisdom my friend received, "Don't consider divorce until the whole family has slept through the night for three solid months first," should be handed out at the hospital like that giant plastic cup you get in labor, or like Little Mother's Helper, before you go home.
Think about this mantra for a minute...Love goes a long way.
To me, love is like glue.
It holds us together no matter how far apart we travel in space and time. No matter how much shit and life gets in the way.
When we tap into love, and trust it, have faith in it - and work on it too, I believe it always comes back around to greet us and prove to us that love goes the extra mile.
And, sometimes, we need to let it go.
Jenior Senior wasn't joking when she wrote All Joy, and No Fun last year...adjusting to parenthood is a rite of passage. And, one of a few times in our adult and whole lives where everything we've identified with in life gets turned upside-down and inside-out.
It takes time to adjust to...this is NORMAL!
To make it more normal, pick up Rising Strong this week by Brené Brown. My current take aways: choose courage over comfort, and the heart heals.
I love you so much, thank you for riding this party wave with us! I can't wait to share more of what's coming next.
Happy Monday Mother Lovers!
